owner + soapsmith
I have been making handmade artisan soaps since 1997. From a young age I was creating things to sell from our small hobby farm in New York's Mid-Hudson Valley. I worked on the farm and learned to knit, spin my own yarn and make jewelry. I became interested in learning how to make my own soaps after reading an article in Countryside Magazine. I got the necessary ingredients, bought a couple books to do my research and made my first batch of lavender soap.
Over the years I have expanded into not just beautiful natural soaps but also bath and body products. Being able to mix and experiment with unusual botanical materials is my favorite part of being a soapmaker. My mission is to create soap that uses all natural ingredients order to nourish, clean and hydrate your skin. I love to experiment with texture and color, seeing how certain materials will react with each other. The end result are unusual yet beautiful blends of scents, colors, and textures.
Thank you for visiting my shop and I am excited to share my vision of a more natural skin care experience with you.
